A Heart of Service

A Heart of Service

What brings me the highest job as a public servant is to know our people can entrust their convictions to us. I am choosing to serve and not criticize; I am choosing to put out and not retrieve. It’s time we place people with true conviction of public service as opposed to career politicians the torch of service so all members of society can feel protected and taken care of.

I have contentedly decided to run for Concord City Council because I believe the people of Concord have trusted my desire to serve them. I do understand the people are tired of the status-quo and want their voices heard. I do intend to serve them. I am not paid by especial interest groups for I am self-funding my campaign.

I hope you may join forces with me in this campaign by donating to the campaign or simply volunteering to canvassing and/or call making. I hope to hear from you voters.

Sincerely yours,

Harmesh Kumar, Ph.D.

The Important Message from Last Night’s State of the Union

The Important Message from Last Night’s State of the Union

Last night our President, Barack Obama, give his last State of the Union address to the nation. Although he talked about many important policy points, such as a commitment to green energy and making sure that college costs are not a barrier to those entering the workforce and older Americans retraining for a different career alike, one of the most important things he talked about came at the very end.

Our president talked about how one of the regrets of his presidency is that he feels that our country has become more polarized and divided since he took office. He discussed how disagreements between different people and parties is something that is natural, and that no one is right or wrong. However, he also emphasised that we are all Americans, regardless of our background, and that we all have a duty to participate in civic life, and not just during election season.

I agree with our president, and I believe that regardless of our views, we all desire the same outcomes. We want to make our communities a better place, improve our schools, help those who are stuck in poverty, and offer greater opportunities to those who have turned to crime to support themselves and their families. Once we recognize that we all desire better neighborhoods, better cities, and a better state and nation, we can finally come together and find ways to bring real change that we can all stand behind.

I Have Released My Campaign’s Platform

I Have Released My Campaign’s Platform

Concord Residents,

Yesterday, I released my vision for a better Concord. I made it available on my website (see the “Where I Stand” page) and sent copies to the press and our local elected officials.

My vision for a better Concord includes an emphasis on things such as keeping our streets safe promoting a Police Department people friendly, promoting more affordable housing for our seniors especially veterans who deserve our praise for their selfless service, etc.

I would hope all Concord voters would take the time to view and consider my platform.

As always, you can contact me here if you have any questions or feel that there is an issue I have omitted.

Thank You for your continued interest and support,

Dr. Harmesh Kumar
